July Fun

Kanarville Falls
Well, before we head off to Oregon, we still have to enjoy our lives as much as we can in Cedar City. So we decided to make more memories and enjoy what Cedar has to offer us.

Kanarraville Falls

Kanarraville Falls is a hike that we usually go on every year, but this year we had Kyle to bring with us. It is quite an amazing hike that is in the middle of a desert surrounding. You start out on a desolate road and hike into this beautiful stream with waterfalls and natural slides. It really is so fun. This year we put Kyle on our back and he did so good! The ladder we had to climb was quite funny watching him though. As Scott started to walk toward it Kyle kept shaking his head "No" the whole way up the ladder. It definitely made it harder for Scott, but it was hilarious to watch.  Half way through the hike Kyle then decided to take a nap, but he really did awesome. It is a great family hike and a great way to play outdoors.

Taking a Snooze!

July Jamboree

July Jamboree

In the middle of July we also attended the July Jamboree. Cedar City puts it on every year. It's a big car show with lots of vendors. That is one thing that I just love and will miss about Cedar is how many family fun things there is to do. Especially during the summer there is always a festival going on. Anyways, Scott, Kyle and I walked main street enjoying the beautiful evening in Cedar.

Kyle Turned 10 Months

Kyle 10 Months
This month also marked Kyle turning 10 months. He has grown up so fast. Just the other day we went to breakfast with some friends and I got to hold their little girl who weighs about 10 pound. I seriously kept thinking, "Kyle was never this small!" But when he was born he was 6 pounds 9 ounces and now he is over 20 pounds! Kyle is so fun in this stage. Just today we would ask him, "Kyle what does a bear say?" He would reply with this deep throat like growl. Then we would ask him to fold his arms and even if he was playing around he would drop the toy and fold his arms. It just melts my heart. Some fun activities that we have done with Kyle lately are bubbles, playing with cards, walking main street, visiting the library (he loves books), going to the park, and having play dates with some other kids. He loves being around people and hasn't seem to get stranger danger yet. He also loves to pull out all of my tuber-ware and make a mess of everything. Some of his favorite games are when we race to get a toy, playing hide and seek with mom and dad, and enjoying destroying a tower of blocks. This week he has also added the word "Ball" to his vocabulary. He is such a happy kid and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. He really is such a joy and I'm so glad that he is a healthy, happy boy.

Zumbathon

This coming Saturday on July 27th, I am helping a friend put on a Zumbathon. It is a fundraiser for a little boy that got hit by a car the first of July. He was life flighted up to Primary Children's Hospital and has been in ICU. We are throwing this event to help raise money for his medical bills. He is such a cute little boy and seems to be fighting everyday. So this next Saturday come and join us for some fun at Southern Utah University's football field where we will be having a 4 hour Zumbathon, with prizes and raffles to help this little boy. It is $5.00 to get in. Please come and help him. I will blog more about the event after it takes place. I'm really excited to be able to help out is such a great cause. Service truly does make everything better. If you want to check out his facebook page, his name is Kaleb Flint and he is 3 years old. Keep fighting Kaleb!

About Us

I have never been into blogging before but because we are moving to Oregon and away from family, I figured I better start one.  Just to start off though, I want to begin by telling you a little bit about my family. Scott (my husband) and I met in college at Southern Utah University. I cheered for 2 years at SUU and Scott played club soccer as well as was a Presidential Ambassador. We first became great friends, dated for a year, and then got married on October 1, 2010 in the Salt Lake City Temple. It was the best day of my life.
Kyle - 6 Months Old
I then finished up my bachelors that year in Exercise Science while Scott worked for Southern Utah University in the Welcome Center as a recruiter for the university. He had graduated that May before in Advertising and Interpersonal Communications. That next year I graduated and started to working at Cedar Middle School as an aid in the Special Education Department. I loved it! It was so much fun and I enjoyed every moment. After being married for a year, Scott and I  starting to think about having a baby.  We figured it would take awhile to get pregnant, so I stop taking birth control about the end of October and by first of January I was pregnant. I had a really good pregnancy other than that first trimester (I threw up a lot!), but I was able to stay active and had a good time giving birth to our handsome little boy Kyle Scott Brueck. Now he is 10 months and loves to get in to everything! I am afraid he is going to be quite the handful as he grows up. He already tears our house apart! However, he is a ton of fun and we love him so much. I never knew I could love something so much!
So this past February Scott started interviewing for graduate programs in Higher Education and Administration with an emphasis in student affairs. After traveling all over he decided on Oregon State University up in Corvallis. We will be moving up there the first of September and are both really excited for a change and an adventure. We wanted to start this blog to keep our friends and family posted on our life in Oregon. We have lots of things we want to do and see. So let the Brueck Bucket List begin!
